Sorry for how late (and cheesy) this post is. Hope it helps you guys :)
I don’t know about you guys, but self care is one of the main things I forget about when it’s exam season. It’s also one of the most important things- if you aren’t prioritising your own mental health and stress levels, you won’t be able to work as hard or do as well. Taking time out to make yourself feel good is not ‘wasting revision time’- it’s essential and a good use of your time.
Take Regular Breaks
I know it’s hard to do without feeling guilty, but you can’t work 24/7. Schedule plenty of breaks and do something relaxing when you take them. Going on the internet for too long tends to make me feel more jittery and anxious if I’m already tired.
Find somewhere pretty to go on a walk. When you get back you’ll feel much better. Do some exercise, clean your room or make yourself some food on your breaks, or even take a nap if you’re tired. Paint or draw or do whatever helps you feel good. A clean room will also help you feel better. Cliched, but true!
Have a bath
It sounds obvious, but it genuinely works. Buy some fancy Lush bath bombs to make the water pretty colours, because you deserve to bathe in rose petals.
Have a relaxing playlist that you can listen to while you work. I recommend these ones.
Scented candles are my number one favourite thing. Lavender, rose and pretty much any flower can be really nice and relaxing for when you’re working or after you’ve finished.
Above all, remember that your grades are not what define you as a person. They won’t be what people remember about you when you’re gone, they’re not the trait about you which makes your friends and family love and care about you. Keeping the relative insignificance of your grades in proportion will hopefully help you reduce your stress levels :)
